Excellent opportunity for a dynamic person to join a cable manufacturing company as a Quality Continual Improvement Engineer in the Corporate office in Anaheim, CA. The successful candidate will have primary accountability to handle improvement process/project/initiative by leading improvement teams through collaboration with department management and participants without direct supervisory responsibility over team members; ensuring all project objectives are properly documented; coordinating activities and tasks; leading on the use of process improvement tools; assisting in the development of implementation action plans; and conducting follow-up.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Daily job responsibilities/functions to include, but not limited to:

  • Facilitate and lead assigned process quality improvement events using methods of culture- appropriate team building, team energizing, data gathering and analysis, and problem solving.
  • Develop and Implement QMS/EMS management systems as well as Internal Audit Programs and Plans for any international standard applicable for Rapid such as AS9100, ISO9001,
  • ISO13485, ISO14001, NADCAP AC7121, etc.
  • Guide and direct project team leaders in defining and architecting business systems, processes, and configurations.
  • Documents new or adjusted business processes and provides analysis and suggestions required to improve the productivity, cost of the individuals using those processes.
  • Define and monitor process parameters/metrics on and ongoing basis to minimize process variation; drive projects which eliminate inefficiencies and optimize productivity.
  • Act as liaison between business users and IT Operations to develop the necessary IT infrastructure/systems when needed and leads effort with users and IT to formally document processes, procedures, and user guides.
  • Facilitate team meetings, drive communication with teams, and follow-up assigned activities.
  • Applies Lean Manufacturing, DMAIC Six Sigma tools to improve quality reduce waste, cost, and processes.
  • Be a key player under his/her manager direction to assist the local organization to systematically use structure methods and tools for problem solving and quality improvements.
  • Example: 8-Disciplines, 5Why’s, PDCA, A3, SPC tools, DMAIC Six Sigma, etc.
  • Provides regular reports or updates to management on program status, plans and issues.
  • Other duties as assigned.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
Expertise/Skills:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in manufacturing or operations roles in medium-size companies.
  • 2-3 years of experience in identifying process improvement opportunities, developing implementation and sustainment plans.
  • Fundamental knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies and lean manufacturing/
  • Six Sigma. (Problem Solving, Standard Work, 5S, PDCA, A3, TPM etc.)
  • Knowledge of management systems on any of the following standards ISO9001, AS9100,
  • ISO13485, ISO14001, NADCAP AC7121, all is a plus.
  • Experience in generating Value Stream Mapping (VSM) maps.
  • Understand Key Performance Measures and Indicators that drive company measurement, reporting and analytics across departments.
  • Fundamental computer skills – Excel (pivot table, charts, data analysis, queries), Visio, Access databases, Minitab, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Any experience working with a Lean manufacturing environment.
  • IPC 620 and J-STD 001 workmanship standards
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to establish, document, update, and track business metrics
  • Must be ITAR compliant (citizen, refugee, permanent resident)
  • Ability to apply advanced mathematical and statistical concepts
  • Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Proven ability to influence and drive change
  • Solid verbal/written communication skills coupled with interpersonal skills – this job requires building team rapport on the shop floor and at all levels in the organization.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task and set priorities
  • Project management and analytical problem-solving skills with ability to scope and analyze cross-functional problems to generate and implement solutions.

Education / Experience:

  • College /University Graduate
  • Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in manufacturing or operations roles in medium-size companies.
  • 2-3 years of experience in quality & environmental management systems and identifying process improvement opportunities, developing implementation and sustainment plans
$73,500.00 – $84,500.00 per year DOE
